  1. Hello,
The new park and trails are awesome!
Are there any plans to connect the trail to the ‘Springs at walnut creek’ neighborhood?

    Thanks!

  2. I second on the idea of connecting the trail to the ‘Springs at walnut creek’ neighborhood !! Please let me know if there is anything we can do to make this happen!

  3. I would also love to see the trail connected to ” the Springs at Walnut Creek.” Let us know what we can do to help get that started. I know our community would appreciate having access from our neighborhood.

Aren’t their plans to connect it to Walnut Creek at some point?

  4. Is a trail head from “four seasons” (or whatever my neighborhood is called) possible? I’ve walked portions of the trail, but not familiar enough with the layout to even know if it’s even reasonable.

Walking along Braker can be precarious

  5. Jonathon and Gwen — sorry for the late reply. Do you live in The Springs at Walnut Creek?

A connecting trail to the existing Copperfield Nature Trail is very possible. It just involves one pretty tough creek crossing.

Please contact me at michaelmcclendon@juno.com if you think your subdivision is interested in helping link your subdivision with our trail.

    • I’ve never seen another bike on the trail. I have a 20inch bike that I do small trails on, and I’ve had areas where I would have to get off and walk it. Also, it’s ‘SingleTrack’ style, so if a walker is coming around a blind corner, you may be the one falling off the edge and into the creek below, if not worse.

  6. The City of Austin is connecting the Walnut Creek Metropolitan hike & bike trail all the way to the TCEQ headquarters. It would be super amazing to have it extend past IH35 all the way to the Copperfield trail.

  7. Re: Northern Walnut Creek Trail phase 2, there us an upcoming public meeting the City of Austin is hosting for the planned trail extension between Walnut Creek District Park and TCEQ/ IH35:
    Tuesday, April 11, 2017 6:00pm to 7:30pm
    Walnut Creek Elementary
    401 W Braker Ln
    Austin, TX 78753
    http://austintexas.gov/event/northern-walnut-creek-trail-phase-2-public-meeting

It is notable that phase 2 mttg will in part “gather input on how the trail will cross I-35.”

  8. New resident here! Any new developments on connecting the greenbelt to the park, or just expanding it? Would be interested on getting involved more to make this happen
